The venue for WLA 2010: the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre WLA 2010 will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC), a modern, purpose-built, world class convention facility that allows the entire program for WLA 2010 to be conveniently and comfortably accommodated under one roof. The BCEC is built over three levels and features 21 multi-functional meeting and event spaces including the Great Hall auditorium, Plaza Ballroom, two boardrooms, a Speakers’ Preparation Centre, four Exhibition Halls and a variety of meeting rooms. In its 11 years of operation, the BCEC has received 90 industry awards for excellence and is officially ranked among the top three convention centres world-wide by the Association Internationale des Palais de Congres (AIPC). The Centre is a short, five minute walk across the Victoria bridge from the heart of Brisbane City, in the riverside cultural and entertainment precinct known as South Bank. WLA 2010 delegates will have easy access to South Bank’s many attractions, including 17 hectares of public parkland, Australia’s only inner-city beach, 35 cafés, bars and restaurants, stylish shops, and a range of galleries and museums including Australia’s largest gallery of modern and contemporary art.
