The WLA 2010 Social Program Alongside the Business Program and Trade Show, WLA 2010 will feature a quality social program, offering a unique opportunity for networking and relaxation. The delegate registration fee for WLA 2010 includes the Official Opening of the Trade Show and Opening Dinner; Melbourne Cup Lunch; Closing Dinner; and Networking Adventure Day at Tangalooma. The President’s Cup Golf Day and Brisbane City Sights Tour are not included in the delegate registration fee and will incur additional fees of $AUD 275 per person and $AUD 75 per person respectively.
The President’s Cup Golf Tournament The social program will commence with The President’s Cup Golf Tournament, which will take place at Links Hope Island Golf Course on Queensland’s beautiful Gold Coast. The 18 hole rational 'links' style championship course was designed by five times British Open winner Peter Thomson, and is consistently ranked in Australia's top ten resort courses. Golfers must employ careful strategic thinking around its natural and man-made hazards and 128 challenging pot style bunkers. This is a tournament not to be missed! For those who don’t wish to participate in the President’s Cup, a Brisbane City Sights Tour will be offered as an alternative. This tour will run from 9.00am - 11.00am.
The WLA 2010 Opening Dinner presents an ideal opportunity to network with old lottery friends and make new connections. The evening will commence with the official opening of the Trade Show, where pre-dinner drinks will be served in the company of some of our unique native Australian wildlife. Dinner and entertainment will follow, ensuring a relaxed, fun-filled start to the Convention. The dress code for this event is smart casual.
Melbourne Cup Lunch and Activities Billed as ‘the race that stops a nation’ The Melbourne Cup is Australia's major Thoroughbred horse race and a key event on Australia’s sporting calendar. As WLA 2010 coincides with the running of the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday 2 November, lunch on that day will be extended to include a special screening of the race and Melbourne Cup themed activities in the Trade Show Exhibition Hall.
The WLA 2010 Closing Dinner The WLA 2010 Closing Dinner will provide an opportunity to step out in style and celebrate the success of WLA 2010. The evening will commence with pre-dinner drinks and will be followed by a beautiful dinner, showcasing Australia’s quality produce and excellent wines. Various entertainers will be featured throughout the evening, with live music and dancing continuing into the early hours of the morning. The dress code for this event is semi-formal i.e. a suit for men and a cocktail dress for women.
Networking Adventure Day at Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island On the final day of the Convention, relax and enjoy a day of sun, sand and fun on the beach at Tangalooma Resort. Tangalooma Resort is situated on Queensland’s beautiful Moreton Island, which is 95% national park and surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue water. You will be transferred to the Island by high speed catamaran. On arrival at Tangalooma, you will be able to choose from a range of adventure activities and tours including snorkelling, water sports and quad bike tours. For lunch we will serve a gourmet BBQ overlooking the beach. |
