Hosting everything from big name Broadway shows, to exclusive international art exhibitions, Brisbane boasts a vibrant calendar of cultural events. Anyone with an interest in the arts should set aside an afternoon to explore South Bank's cultural precinct. Topping the list of precinct must-dos are the Queensland Museum, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art. Beyond South Bank, street art, boutique galleries and independent art centres like the Brisbane Powerhouse (home to some of the city's most cutting-edge performances) provide extra opportunities for art-inspired explorations. |
On your arrival, after clearing Customs and collecting your luggage, you will progress to a Quarantine checkpoint. Quarantine staff will question you about the contents of your luggage and may ask to x-ray or personally examine it to check for prohibited, restricted or dutiable goods. If you are carrying undeclared prohibited or restricted goods, you could be fined or prosecuted, so honesty is the best approach. For detailed information on the items you need to declare, duty-free entitlements and Australia's Tourist Refund Scheme, download the Guide for Travellers in your chosen language. |
Visit the Advertising Awards Cinema within the Trade Show, between 31 October and 3 November, to view the shortlisted submissions in this year's WLA Advertising Awards and vote for your favourite. The judging panel has selected the shortlist, but it is delegate votes that will determine the category winners. This is a great opportunity to see how other lotteries are promoting their products, so visit the cinema and get involved! In the tradition of the WLA Convention, the WLA Advertising Awards will be presented at the Closing Dinner, which this year will take place on Thursday 4 November. |
