Accompanying Persons Program To ensure your family and friends are able to enjoy the best of Brisbane and the surrounding regions during their visit, WLA 2010 will offer a high quality, comprehensive Accompanying Persons Program. The Accompanying Persons Program registration fee for WLA 2010 includes the Brisbane City Sights Tour; Official Opening of the Trade Show and Opening Dinner; Melbourne Cup Lunch; Closing Dinner; Networking Adventure Day at Tangalooma; and three hosted private tours to Tamborine Mountain, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Palazzo Versace. To register for the accompanying persons program, please use the WLA 2010 registration form. The tours to Tamborine Mountain, Lone Pine and Palazzo Versace are only available to registered accompanying persons and will not be offered for individual sale. However individual tickets for the Brisbane City Sights Tour, Opening Dinner, Closing Dinner and Networking Adventure Day are available for purchase via the WLA 2010 registration form.
Brisbane City Sights Tour Brisbane is a modern, dynamic and sophisticated city that revels in its relaxed outdoor lifestyle. The Brisbane City Sights Tour will take you on a scenic guided tour of the city centre and surrounding suburbs and will include a detailed commentary about Brisbane’s history as well as life in the city today.
Official Opening of Trade Show and WLA 2010 Opening Dinner The WLA 2010 Opening Dinner presents an ideal opportunity to network with old lottery friends and make new connections. The evening will commence with the official opening of the Trade Show, where pre-dinner drinks will be served in the company of some of our unique native Australian wildlife. Dinner and entertainment will follow, ensuring a relaxed, fun-filled start to the Convention. The dress code for this event is smart casual.
Tamborine Mountain Tamborine Mountain, nestled in the Gold Coast hinterland, is one of Queensland’s natural treasures. This unique rainforest township offers visitors a diverse range of recreation options from subtropical rainforest walks to antique shopping and art galleries. You will have an opportunity to explore the township before regrouping for cheese and wine tasting and lunch at one of the local boutique wineries.
Melbourne Cup Lunch and Activities Billed as ‘the race that stops a nation’ The Melbourne Cup is Australia's major Thoroughbred horse race and a key event on Australia’s sporting calendar. Join the WLA 2010 delegates at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 2 November for a themed lunch, a special screening of the race and an afternoon of fun Melbourne Cup themed activities.
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary and Mount Cootha Lookout Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is the world’s largest and oldest koala sanctuary and well worth a visit. On arrival at Lone Pine, you will be able to explore the Sanctuary at your own pace, cuddling the koalas, hand feeding the kangaroos and getting acquainted with Australia's other furry and feathered friends. The Sanctuary stages a variety of live animal shows and informative talks each day including lorikeet feeding, snake handling and sheep dog performances – you may wish to take in one of these during your visit. From Lone Pine, a private coach will transport you to the Summit Restaurant at Mount Cootha Lookout, where you will enjoy a leisurely three course lunch with panoramic views of Brisbane City and Moreton Bay. Following lunch the coach will return to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. This tour includes return transfers from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, a dedicated tour host and tour guide, entry to Lone Pine, your photograph with a koala, and a three course lunch.

The WLA 2010 Closing Dinner The WLA 2010 Closing Dinner will provide an opportunity to step out in style and celebrate the success of WLA 2010. The evening will commence with pre-dinner drinks and will be followed by a beautiful dinner, showcasing Australia’s quality produce and excellent wines. Various entertainers will be featured throughout the evening, with live music and dancing continuing into the early hours of the morning. The dress code for this event is semi-formal i.e. a suit for men and a cocktail dress for women.
Networking Adventure Day at Tangalooma Resort, Moreton Island On the final day of the Convention, relax and enjoy a day of sun, sand and fun on the beach at Tangalooma Resort. Tangalooma Resort is situated on Queensland’s beautiful Moreton Island, which is 95% national park and surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue water. You will be transferred to the Island by high speed catamaran. On arrival at Tangalooma, you will be able to choose from a range of adventure activities and tours including snorkelling, water sports and quad bike tours. For lunch we will serve a gourmet BBQ overlooking the beach.
